Program: To the Moon & Possibly Mars
Description: This program originates from the Milestones of Flight gallery in the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC. Students will learn about major achievements in getting to the moon, and identify obstacles and problems encountered in placing a person on the moon and returning safely back to earth. The use of artifacts, photos, NASA images and thought-provoking questions make this experience exciting and educational.

Program: Kites, Wings & Flying Things
Description: This program explores some of the ideas and concepts the Wright brothers used to create their 1903 Flyer. Students actively participate in comparing the materials and control systems of kites with the 1903 Flyer, as well as learn about airfoils and how they create lift. Students make observations first hand from the original 1903 Flyer which is on display in one of the museums galleries. Materials and suggested classroom activities for use prior to the program are included. A pre-lesson videoconference with the teacher is a participation requirement.
