Collaboration Opportunities

Want to meet a class in another location? Want to work on a project with a class in another state? A collaboration is a connection between 2 or more schools in different locations with a common interest. Collaborations are free and the projects are designed by you! Below is a link to collaboration opportunities schools have posted they would like to do. If you have a collaboration to post, please email me: audramay@usd358.com.

Navigate through the hundreds of collaborations posted by teachers all over the United States and some beyond! You can search for a particular topic or grade level or view them all.  Each one gives it's purpose and time frame that they would like to videoconference.

Collaboration Ideas

Collaborations can be anything you would like! You can take a project that you already do in class and share it with a class in another location. Below are examples of collaborations. To help implement a current project into an IDL Collaboration Project, please use this Form: Collaboration Implementation Form

Pen Pals - Students practice their letter writing skills. Once the students have created pen pals, then they can connect using videoconference to "meet" their penpals.

Book Discussions - Each class will read the same book or novel and connect using videoconference to have discussions about the story. Projects could be created as well and presented to partner class.

Science Projects - Present science fair projects to your partner class and they present to you.

Common projects - choose a science project (or other themed project) for both classes to complete. Meet with partner class over videoconference to discuss project through out the process. Then give a class presentation for the final connection.

Foreign Language - Practice a foreign language with other classes studying the same language. Or find a class that is fluent in that language to practice with.

That's just to name a few!
