Region 14 ESC and MAGPI are pleased to announce that general registration is NOW OPEN for “The Civil War: Our State's Contribution to the War and the War's Effects on Our State” national videoconference program scheduled for May 16th. Our very own El Dorado 8th grade class will be the first presenters to kick off the day!

Schools around the country are invited to participate in this exciting all day videoconference event focusing on The Civil War and the impact and contributions of various states across the nation. This videoconference will bring together middle and high school students across the country to present to each other about their state's unique contribution to The Civil War and the war's effects on their state. In addition to presentations from schools representing states across the country, there will also be four presentations from museums including: The Mariner's Museum, Library of Congress, Virginia Historical Society and the Smithsonian American Museum of Art and a ‘special’ presentation from a school in England reporting on the United Kingdom’s view of the American Civil War.

Join us on May 16th for this great day of engaged and interactive learning as ‘student teach students’ about The American Civil War! Running simultaneously with the event will be a moderated blog where students and teachers can make comments and ask questions.
